|SR-20C Point-to-Point Radiotelephone Link|
Telepoint’s SR-20C is a UHF/VHF single-line point-to-point radiotelephone link designed to provide affordable yet high-quality telephone service to rural subscribers. It acts as a full-duplex line extender providing telephone, fax, and internet service to locations difficult or impossible to access by wire lines. Examples include offshore platforms, islands, mountainous areas, and farmlands. A system consists of two units, Base and Subscriber.
The Base unit is typically located where a CO (exchange) line is available. The Subscriber unit is located a long distance away where phone, fax, or modem service is needed. Antennas are connected to both units to establish a radio link between them.
Range up to 60 miles (100 kilometers).
Nearly any RF frequency pair may be chosen in the standard bands of 136-174, 400-430, or 450-490MHz. Frequencies in many other bands are also available.
Transmit power up to 50W for VHF and 40W for UHF.
Channel spacing is 25kHz (standard) or 12.5kHz (optional).
Dial-up internet connection speeds of 19.2kbps can normally be obtained.
Fax: rates to 14.4kbps
Subaudible tones (CTCSS) guard against activation by outside signals.
RF modules by Kenwood.
Excellent audio quality – compandors eliminate radio hiss.
Compatible with DTMF or pulse-dial exchanges.
Intercom calls can be made between the Subscriber and a phone connected directly to the Base unit.
Hook switch flash is transmitted through system
Changes to most settings can be done with a standard telephone.
